Having started a pilot project last year, this year Vilnius City Municipality is announcing the start of an expanded Young Athlete’s Basket funding programme. The funding programme for sports organisations, which is still considered a novelty, is intended for those sports institutions that develop young athletes to achieve high results. <\/p>\n

2024 The project, which was called a pilot, included only two sports. This year, the opportunity to participate was given to federations of all sports \u2013 the information provided by them helped to create application forms. <\/p>\n

SPORTS WHOSE REPRESENTATIVES CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM:<\/b>
\nBadminton, Cycling, Judo, Football, Golf, Speed Skating, Floor Hockey, Rowing, Kyokushin, Basketball, Bullet Shooting, Climbing, Ice Hockey, Paddle Ball, Athletics<\/strong>, Orienteering, Handball, Rugby, Sports Dancing, Water Skiing and Wakeboarding, Water Polo, Equestrian Sports.<\/p>\n

WHO CAN APPLY:<\/b>
\nA sports organization registered for at least one year in the territory of the Municipality and in the \u0160MIR system, educating children and young people of high sporting excellence. The petitioner cannot be an institution subordinate to the Municipality. <\/p>\n

FINANCING PRINCIPLE:<\/b>
\nFunding is allocated to the eligible organisation according to the (non-repeating) number of young athletes who participated in the competitions of the previous year or season specified in the application. The amount of the “basket” for one child per month is 20.00 Eur. The funding is allocated for one year. <\/p>\n
