On Thursday, the V European Junior Athletics Championships began in Rietis.<\/p>\n

On the first day, four Lithuanian athletes competed.<\/p>\n

In the qualification competition, Redas \u0160iuipys<\/strong> jumped without mistakes and made it to the final of the high jump – 2.05 m (1.84\/1, 1.90\/1, 1.96\/1, 2.01\/1, 2.05\/1). This height was overcome by 8 jumpers. Final – Saturday at 11:48 a.m. <\/p>\n

Viktorija Urbelyt\u0117<\/strong> took 17th place in the discus throw qualification competition A – 35.33 m (35.33-33.34-30.91), while Gintar\u0117 Minevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117 <\/strong>was 14th in group B – 40.08 m (38.87-39.64-40.08). In the overall standings, Gintar\u0117 took 28th place in the championship, Viktorija – 36th place. <\/p>\n

Simona \u0160lap\u0161inskait\u0117<\/strong> finished seventh in the 400 m qualifying run (57.18) and did not qualify for the semi-finals. She took 34th place in the championship. <\/p>\n

On Friday, four Lithuanian women competed in the championship:<\/p>\n

Liucija D\u017eiaugyt\u0117<\/strong> took 4th place in the javelin throw qualification competition Group A – 47.97 m (x-47.97-x). After the group B competition, it turned out that Liucija was among the twelve finalists with the ninth result. The fight for medals will take place on July 18 at 8:20 p.m. <\/p>\n

V\u0117tr\u016bn\u0117 Adomavi\u010di\u016bt\u0117<\/strong>. In the 400 m fourth qualifying run, she finished ninth (2:24.21), and took the final place in the championship – 33rd. <\/p>\n

In the high jump qualification competition, Darija Matukaityt\u0117<\/strong> jumped the bar at a height of 1.71 m (1.60\/1, 1.64\/2, 1.68\/1, 1.71\/1) and made it to the finals. They will take place on July 19 at 5 p.m. <\/p>\n

Gert\u0117 \u017di\u010dkut\u0117’s <\/strong>result in the triple jump qualification competition was 24th – 11.84\/0.7 m (11.84-x-x).<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the first “Lithuanian” final took place. Redas \u0160iuipys<\/strong> improved his personal record, achieved the best result of the Lithuanian season and took the fourth place – 2.09 m (1.94\/1 1.99\/2 2.03\/1 2.06\/1 2.09\/3 2.12\/xxx).<\/p>\n

Jok\u016bbas Avgustaitis<\/strong> took 23rd place in the qualifying competition of the shot put – 16.22 m (16.22-x-x).<\/p>\n

Results of the last day of the championship for Lithuanians:<\/p>\n

Just\u0117 Andrijauskait\u0117<\/strong> took 14th place in the 5000 m athletic walk (24:23.30).<\/p>\n

Also 14th place in the 3000 m run was taken by Samanta Machankovait\u0117<\/strong> (9:53.85)<\/p>\n

Liucija D\u017eiaugyt\u0117<\/strong> threw the javelin 44.76 m (44.76-x-43.92) and took 10th place.<\/p>\n

Darija Matukaityt\u0117<\/strong> was tenth with a height of 1.70 m (1.66\/2, 1.70\/2, 1.74\/xxx).<\/p>\n
