The Deaf Olympic Games have ended: 1 gold, 2 silver medals

The athletics competition of the XXV Summer Olympics for the Deaf ended in Tokyo. Five Lithuanian track and field athletes took part in them.

The qualifying competition was successful for our ball pushers – everyone made it to the finals. The result of Vytenis Ivaškevičius was the best (16.73), Mindaugas Jurkša – second (16.47), Šarūnas Zdanavičius – sixth (14.95). On Wednesday in the final competition , Mindaugas Jurkša pushed the ball 17.07 m and won the gold medal, Vytenis Ivaškevičius won silver (16.93), Šarūnas Zdanavičius was sixth (15.28). In the XXIV Games in 2022, Vytenis was the champion, and Mindaugas was the vice-champion. Results.

On Tuesday, Edvinas Vaičiulis finished sixth (4:19.80) in the 1500 m qualifying run and made it to the final run. He finished twelfth (4:21.07). Results.

On Friday, Edvinas Vaičiulis was third in the third 800 m qualifying run (2:04.86). On Saturday, he finished sixth (2:01.34) in the semi-final run, his result was sixteenth among all participants.

Mažvydas Paurys threw the discus 53.32 m in the second attempt in the qualification competition, fulfilled the norm and competed in the final on Monday. In it, he improved his personal record and won a silver medal in the second Games in a row – 57.83 m. Mindaugas Jurkša took ninth place (41.15, 43.04 in qualification). Results.
