On August 2 (Saturday), 5–6 p.m. (the time will be specified on the spot), the “Sportland” run in a circle (400 m) will take place at the central stadium of Palanga (Sporto St. 3). We invite children aged 4-6 to participate free of charge and become part of the Lithuanian Athletics Championship.
Together with the children, the distance will be covered by Lithuanian record holders and multiple champions Simas Bertašius and Giedrius Valinčius. Participants will have special numbers, and immediately after the finish they will be treated to ice cream.
Simas has become the Lithuanian champion as many as 38 times, and he also holds national records in the 1000 m, 1500 m, 1500 m indoors, 1 mile and 3000 m. Giedrius has worn the crown of the Lithuanian champion 6 times, and this year he also entered the record book when he improved the national record for 10 km road running.
Parents will be able to accompany their children on the track, and participants are asked to gather at the central entrance to the arena before the start (until 5 p.m.).
