On Wednesday, August 5, the 21st World Youth Athletics Championships begin in Eugene, Oregon, USA. On the very first day, both Lithuanian representatives will start – Ieva Šadžiūtė and Martynas Kolupaila will run 100 m.

There will be eight qualifying heats each. The semifinal will continue with the three fastest runners from each race, plus three runners with the best times.

10:20 PM Run 7. M. Kolupaila. Starting lists.

Four Lithuanian sprinters have competed in the 100 m run at the World Junior Championships: Agnė Visockaitė (1996), Lina Grinčikaitė (2004, 2006), Andrė Ožechauskaitė (2021, 2022), and Adas Dambrauskas (2024). The highest, sixth place, was taken in 2006 by L. Grinčikaitė.
