For two days, the international junior and junior competition “Maniežas Cup” took place in Klaipėda.
In the 2000 m, the Lithuanian 14-year-old record was improved by Rugilė Zaleckaitė , a student of coach Romas Sausaitis, – 6 min. 35.32 sec. Rugilė’s sister Aušrinė (6:35.68) also ran faster than the record set by Rasa Drazdauskaitė in 1996.
The best results of the Lithuanian season were achieved by Viltė Poviliūnaitė (long jump, 5.42), Gertė Žičkutė (triple jump, 12.00), Martynas Kolupaila (60 m, 6.98), Arnas Vainorius (200 m, 23.40), Danielius Puodžiūnas (2000 m, 6:07.72), Gvidas Jurkevičius (long jump, 6.62) and Redas Šiuipys (triple jump, 14.21).
