European Youth Olympic Festival

On Friday, the last three of our track and field athletes joined the competition.

Gvidas Jurkevičius took the sixth place (3691 points) after the first five games of the ten-fight race. His results in individual events: 100 m – 11.67/0.1, distance – 6.39/-0.8, shot put – 15.17, height – 1.94, 400 m – 51.38.

On Saturday, he recorded the following results: 110 m b/b – 16.39/0.9, discus – 42.50, pole – 3.50, javelin – 49.21, 1500 m – 5:15.21. After scoring 6630 points, Gvidas improved his personal record and took ninth place.

Liucija Džiaugytė threw the javelin in 38.47 m and took 15th place.

Justė Andrijauskaitė finished ninth in the 5000 m athletic walk (25:13.06).

On Thursday, three of our track and field athletes competed in the championship.

Martynas Kolupaila finished sixth in the 200 m semi-finals (21.89/0.1), he took 12th place in the festival. Ieva Šadžiūtė once again improved her personal record (24.63/-0.5) in the semi-finals, but was only eighth and did not make it to the final, taking 14th place in the festival.

Simonas Gansiniauskas took 16th place in the pole vault final – 4.15 m (4.15/2, 4.35/xxx).


Four representatives of Lithuania competed on Wednesday.

Libertas Kulieša took ninth place in the 5000 m walk (22:44.10).

Ieva Šadžiūtė finished fifth in the 200 m qualifying race (24.67/1.0, personal best) and qualified for tomorrow’s semi-finals with the 15th result.

Tomorrow, Martynas Kolupaila, who finished fourth in the 200 m qualifying race (21.81/-1.2), will also run in the semi-finals.

Pijus Albavičius took the tenth place in the javelin throw – 58.28 m (58.28-56.45-57.59).


The European Youth Olympic Festival athletics competition kicked off on Monday in Skopje, North Macedonia. Ten Lithuanians will participate in them, four of them started in the qualification competition on the first day:

Ieva Šadžiūtė finished fifth in the 100 m qualification race (12.04/-1.0), seventh in the semifinals (11.90/0.6, personal best) and took the final fourteenth place.

Martynas Kolupaila took third place in the 100 m qualification race (10.89/-0.4), was fifth in the semi-final race (10.72/0.2) and took ninth place in the festival.

Redas Šiuipys, who overcame a height of 1.95 m (1.85/1 1.90/1 1.95/1 2.01/xxx), took fifteenth place and did not make it to the final.

Simona Šlapšinskaitė finished sixth in the first 400 m qualifying run (57.94), and her result was sixteenth among all participants.

Lithuanians will not start on Tuesday.
