On Friday, two Lithuanians competed in the championship.
Matas Janarauskas finished eighth (47.89) in the third semi-final of the 400 m run and took 20th place in the championship.
Aurėja Beniušytė improved her personal record and took the fourth place – 13.35 m (13.35/1.6, 13.13/1.0, 12.82/0.5, 12.86/-0.2, 13.18/-0.1, 12.78/-0.9. The triple jump medals were shared by the Italian Erika Giorgia Anoeta Saraceni (14.24, U20 championship record), the Romanian Daria Vrinceanu (13.75) and the Latvian Adriana Kruzmane (13.62).
On Saturday, Joana Feodorovaitė will compete in the long jump qualification at 10:55 a.m., and Orinta Navikaitė’s javelin throw final at 12:45 p.m.
On Thursday, the European Youth (U20) Championship began in Tampere. On the first day, almost all (9 out of 10) representatives of Lithuania competed, three of them will continue the competition.
In the 400 m qualification race, Eva Aušraitė finished fifth (55.64) and did not qualify for the semi-final runs. She took 30th place in the championship.
Matas Janarauskas took the second place in the 400 m qualification race (47.67, the best result of the season) and qualified for tomorrow’s semi-final runs. Among all the participants in the qualifying runs, his result was the twentieth one.
Martynas Kolupaila finished fifth in the 100 m qualification race (11.06/-2.4) and took 35th place in the championship.
Matas Mikulėnas, who pushed the ball 17.33 m (17.33 – x – x) and took 14th place in the qualification, did not make it to the final competition. He was separated by 30 cm from the final.
Aurėja Beniušytė will compete for medals in the triple jump final on Friday. In qualifying, her result was seventh – 12.92 m (12.92/-0.3, 12.84/-0.7 – 12.85/-1.0)
Arminas Ačas threw the discus 51.35 m (51.35 – x – x), took 20th place in the qualification and did not make it to the final.
Kasparas Gustas took 17th place in the pole vault qualification competition – 4.90 m (4.90/2, 5.05/xxx).
On Saturday, Orinta Navikaitė will compete in the javelin throw final, having fulfilled the qualification standard – 53.03 m with her second throw. Augustė Virbalaitė was only 5 cm short of the final, who took 13th place (47.96).
