World 24 Hour Running Championships

In Albi (France), ultramarathoners competed this weekend – the World 24-Hour Running Championship took place.

Tadas Ščegauskas took 14th place (260.272 m), Andrius Preibys – 41st place (240.217 m), Marius Zakarauskas – 68th place (220.938 m), Aidas Ardzijauskas – 111th place (196.707 m). World champion Alexander Sorokin did not start due to health problems. The winner was the Ukrainian Andriy Tkachuk (294.346 m).

Among the 41 teams, Lithuanian men were eleventh (721,427 m), while the Finns became champions (797,030 m).

In the World Masters Championship held at the same time, T. Ščegauskas’ result in the 35-year-old age group was second, and M. Zakarauskas – fourth.
