Lithuanian Athletics Championship – generous partner prizes for athletes

On August 1-3, the renovated Palanga Stadium hosted the tenth anniversary Lithuanian Athletics Championship. More than 300 athletes competed in it, and the participants achieved amazing results – Ema Rupšytė demonstrated the third result in the history of Lithuania, Gabija Galvydytė fulfilled the World Championship standard, and Mykolas Alekna made the fourth best throw of her career.

All these achievements, as well as the victories of other athletes, did not go unnoticed – the partners of the Lithuanian Athletics Federation (LLAF) established prizes. The long-term cooperation continues successfully with Sportland, who gave all champions gift cards worth 175 euros. The relay winners were not disadvantaged either, as each runner representing the winning team received a gift card worth 50 euros.

Sportland also made a significant contribution to the noble initiative – 400 m running for children. Dozens of children and their parents started at this festival, and they were supported by Lithuanian record holders – Simas Bertašius, Giedrius Valinčius and G. Galvydytė. All participants of the race had special numbers (“I am the future champion!”), and after the finish they feasted on ice cream.

LLAF is entering the second Lithuanian Athletics Championship together with “Druskininkai Rasa”. The partners not only supplied Rasa Light water to athletes, but also Rasa Kids bottles for children. In addition, “Druskininkai Rasa” has established awards for athletes who achieved the best results of the day. On Friday, the prize (visit to the water entertainment and sauna area at the Druskininkai Health and Recreation Centre “AQUA”) was collected by E. Rupšytė (100 m – 11.37 seconds), on Saturday – M. Alekna (discus throw – 72.15 m), and on Sunday – Marius Vadeikis (long jump – 7.99 m).

Cash prizes for javelin throwing champions were established by the company Nortikus. The support was initiated by Olympian Arūnas Jurkšas, and the amount depended on the result achieved. Liveta Jasiūnaitė (58.77 m), who threw the javelin up to 60 meters, received 500 euros, and Edis Matusevičius (81.09 m), who threw the 80 meter mark, received 1000 euros.

“Cosma Metal” established a cash prize worth 1000 euros for the improved national record in the Lithuanian championship. Support for young athletes for results in national and international competitions will also be provided by LLAF partners Sportija.
