Less than 4 months before the European Athletics Championships , it is already clear that at least 5 athletes have won the opportunity to represent Lithuania – this is how many of them have fulfilled the norms of the championships. Discus throwers Mykolas and Martynas Aleknas, runner Gabija Galvydytė (who fulfilled both the 800 and 1500 m distance norms) and high jumper Juozas Baikščis were joined by multi-athlete Beatričė Juškevičiūtė.
The track and field athlete, who trains across the Atlantic in Volnat (USA), scored 6323 points in the Mt.SAC Relays heptathlon, improved her personal record by 28 points and became the winner of this competition.
Results in individual events: 100 m b/b – 13.35 sec., height – 1.68 m, shot put – 14.99 m (personal best), 200 m – 24.04 sec., distance – 6.24 m (personal best), javelin – 45.44 m, 800 m – 2 min. 15.35 sec.
We would like to remind you that in March, Beatričė made her debut at the World Indoor Athletics Championships and won 9th place there.
The European Championship will take place on August 10-16 in Birmingham (UK). It is possible to enter it not only by meeting the norm, but also by ranking – this is how more Lithuanians usually get in. Qualification takes place until July 26. You can follow it here: Road to Birmingham
